The Fairfax Business and Professional Association Entrepreneurial-Incentive Scholarships are intended to serve Fairfax residents seeking education and/or training in business-related fields. There are up to three (3) scholarships available for $500.00 each.
The intent ofthe scholarship is to encourage entrance into business and entrepreneurial fields, especially for those people not choosing to follow the traditional college path. The purpose is to encourage long-tenn entrepreneurial goals. Examples of appropriate fields of study are apprenticeships in the trades and the arts, trade or crafts-related classes, or on the job training. These and other business-related endeavors will be considered. Study and/or training must be supervised by an appropriately skilled teacher or supervisor.
Eligibility
• You must be a legal resident of either the Town of Fairfax or the BFA Fairfax School District, and have lived in Fairfax for one year prior to the start of your educational/training experience.
• BFA Fairfax students, home-schooled students, and adults in career transition are eligible.
• You must be a US citizen or eligible non-citizen.
Application
1. Complete the FBPA Scholarship Application, which can be found on our website at www.fairfaxvt.com, in the BFA Fairfax Guidance Office, or by calling Anne at 849-6605.
2. Include a brief biographical sketch, including goals and ambitions, as well as an explanation ofwhy you deserve the scholarship. Say how this support will help your entrepreneurial goals.
3. Include three letters of recommendation from teachers, employers, or residents of Fairfax.
4. Applications must be postmarked or hand-delivered by May 9th

5. Finalists for the scholarship will be invited for an interview.
6. The selected recipients will receive notice of the award by the first Friday in June.
